Catching up - July 2014

Hi everyone!  A lot has happened since we last posted and we want to tell you a little about what we have been up to.  Our apologies for not getting our posts out more regularly, but we are going to try to do better.

The biggest news for us is that we have expanded!  Yes, we are teaching in another school - The Kamala Small Children Development Centre.  There are more than 260 3-7 year olds attending the school and we have the privilege of teaching them English.  Aren't they adorable!

 

As we speak the children are in class and busy learning.  We have a team of great teachers this year, some you may remember.  Let’s start by going over them all anyway…

Teacher Shah – Teacher Shah has been with us for the last 2.5 years and this term is focusing on Mathyom (senior) students.

 

Teacher Agie – Teacher Agie is still with us at our Kalim school (our very first school!) but as of this year now teaches the kindergarten children as well.  While quite excitable and energetic, Teacher Agie loves teaching the children and watching them learn.

Teacher Taylor – Teacher Taylor has been with us for the last 12 months and comes from Indiana, USA.  Teacher Taylor also looks after all the lovely helpers and volunteers who give up their time.

Teacher Martin – Teacher Martin joined us this term after teaching in other Government schools in Thailand last year.  Teacher Martin is from Uganda and is loving his new role!

Teacher Alicia – Also new is Teacher Alicia who specializes in kindergarten teaching.  Teacher Alicia works across two of our schools – the ‘big’ school in Kamala and the new Kamala Small Children Development Centre – and teachers more than 260 kindergarten children!  That keeps her on her toes!

Teacher Angela – Looking after this ‘A Team’ is Senior Teacher Angela who has been with our charity for more than two years now.
