This is my second full term teaching with
PHBGTU and, I must admit, there’s nothing better than waking up every morning
and doing what you love. Like any job, there are some days your gas tank is on
complete E. Yet, even on these days, I
feel like I’ve accomplished some of my small goals.
All of my students are amazing but I like
to spotlight the little stars that shine especially bright each month. Last
term, I decided to create a way to reward these students while also making an incentive
for others. Thus, the “Star Student of the Month” award was born.
Each month, I pick one or two students from
each level who have completed all of their work and have shown exceptional
behavior in English class. They are rewarded with a certificate, a treat from
the goody bag and their photo is displayed for the entire month. The
recipients are so proud to be recognized and their peers work even harder to
become next month’s Star.
Here are some Stars in all of their glory…
Watermelon
(P4/1) is a new residential student this term and just as sweet as her name! She’s
always full of hugs and love and such a pleasure to have in class.
This
is my second year teaching Gigi (P5/1). She never ceases to amaze me with her
knowledge of English. Gigi is an incredibly hardworking student and a true
classroom leader.
Franky
(P4/2) is another new residential student. When he is not making me laugh with
his jokes and antics, he is hard at work learning English.
Here’s to my Star Students who make it all
worth it at the end of the day. They have inspired me more than they could ever
begin to comprehend.
